During Race Days
During race days, there is a lot of pressure, nerves, and worries for these kids. Even though most of us cant handle all those things these kids deal with it all through cross country season. At the beginning of the race they say: your heart is beating so fast, you are so nervous, your already sweating, and when they say runners set and you get ready you can look down at your legs to see that they are shaking." The teammates say " but once the gun goes off all of your nerves are gone. when they go out there; you see the competition in their eyes, that they are ready to go!
Team Work
Caldwell' s Cross Country team is great at bringing people together to form teams. I believe that teams are the best thing when it comes to running. Even though you don't feel 100 percent they will make you better as a person. Their always there to make you do better!
Individual Work
Its good to have some alone time! Even though team work is great and all, we still need to work for ourselves. Its that saying " you have to make yourself better." Caldwell's Cross Country team has faced many problems as a team but individually. They always work it out though.
The things we must do!
Every single morning, these kids show up at school at 6:15 when practice starts at 6:30. Monday, and Wednesday is considered their hard workout days, while Tuesday, and Thursday are just your 30 minute runs. Friday is known has their pre-race. Basically, your gonna go on a 15 minute run and your gonna take a ice bath. Even when these kids don't want to wake up, or even go run this early in the morning. They still give it their all. I have seen these kids break many records. I have also seen them as a great team.
